THE WOMEN'S SEWING CIRCLE

Originally called The Ladies Social Sewing Society of Ocean View Presbyterian Church, it was organized in January, 1879 when it was comprised of both men and women. The organization holds the distinction of being the LONGEST continually active society in Delaware!

Today the group consists of the ladies of the church and meets for lunch, business and Bible study on the second Wednesday of the month at 12 noon. All ladies are welcome! The group is VERY active in mission work. Two events during the year, the Heavenly Luncheon in July and the Jumble in October, are mainly responsible for supporting the many mission projects funded by the Sewing Circle.

These include but are certainly not limited to:

  • Presbyterian Disaster Assistance
  • Village Volunteer
  • Cheer Center
  • Santa's Letters
  • The Way Home
  • Lighthouse for Broken Wings
  • Rwanda Joy
  • The OVPC Sharing Pantry

The moderator of the Circle is Ellen Neumann.  Please feel free to contact her through the church office for more information.
